According to reports, 76 people have died in Iran 🇮🇷 due to floods which has incurred over $2.2billion in damages in recent weeks.
With the death of two people in Khuzestan and Ilam province the death toll has now reached 76 since March 19th according to a publication from coroner’s office. This two provinces are the latest to be hit with massive floods forcing hundreds of thousands of people to flee their homes and villages.
According to some weather officials, warnings have been sent out to the people residing in the eastern part of the country about an heavy rain which has began since Saturday. The flood was so destructive to the extent that it destroyed 14,000 km of roads and 725 bridges were destroyed also 25 provinces and 4400 villages across the country were affected by the floods.
Since the destruction of the floods, Iran had received aid from neighboring countries including France 🇫🇷 which donated 114 pumps and 210 tents.
According to the head of Iran’s meteorology service, Sahar Tajbakhsh revealed that the floods were due to global warning and climate change.
