The men of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested Nigerian musician, Naira Marley, whose real name is Afeez Fashola.
The singer is currently being detained and questioned at the EFFC office in Lagos.
According to sources, why he was arrested is not known though I think it might be in connection with his statements on social media which glorifies Internet fraudsters, A.K.A Yahoo boys.
Perhaps coincidentally, Naira Marley released the official video of his hit track, ‘Am I A Yahoo Boy’ featuring Zlatan on Thursday
During a recent Instagram live session which went viral fast, the Nigerian singer was seen urging Nigerians to pray for Internet fraudsters (Yahoo boys) saying they are the reason money circulates to the common man.

The video has since stirred different reactions from Nigerians and even major musicians around the country who described Marley as a bad influence to the Nigerian youths.
Though Naira Marley was supported by some who think his statement was very true. Naira Marley is popular for his 2017 hit song titled ’It’s a goal.’ which I don’t even like 🙄
The acting spoken person of the EFCC, Mr. Tony Orilade has confirmed the arrest of Naira Marley and here’s what he said:
“Yes, he is with us. He’s not the only person; he had some other persons also arrested alongside (him). They were arrested in relation to advance fee fraud — Internet-related cases and all of that. Give me a little time and I will get you the details.”
I’ll keep updating this article when new info reaches me.
