Thank You Poems For All

1.) People To Thank

Over the years there’s been so many,
People I needed would thank.
These people are those who always rose,
Whenever I needed a yank.

If I was calling and needed some help,
These people were always there.
To pick up their hats, and jump in a stat,
No questions or even a snare.

They fought for me without a question,
They were always on my side
And when hugs were needed, I was always greeted,
With warm and tenderized pies.

I know I’ve thanked them, but often wonder,
Do they realize this much?
They’ve been my saviors, with such great behaviors,
I hope I’ve inherited their great touch.

– Julie Hebert

2.) Slant

If the angle of an eye is all,
the slant of hope, the slant of dreaming, according to each life,
what is the light of this city,
light of Lady Liberty, possessor of the most famous armpit in the world,
light of the lovers on Chinese soap operas, throwing BBQ’d ducks at each other
with that live-it-up-while-you’re-young, Woo Me kind of love,
light of the old men sitting on crates outside geegaw shops
selling dried seahorses & plastic Temples of Heaven,
light of the Ying ‘n’ Yang Junk Palace,
light of the Golden Phoenix Hair Salon, light of Wig-o-ramas,
light of the suntanners in Central Park turning over like rotisserie chickens sizzling on a spit,
light of the Pluck U & Gone with the Wings fried-chicken shops,
the parking-meter-leaners, the Glamazons,
the oglers wearing fern-wilting quantities of cologne, strutting, trash-talking, glorious:
the immigrants, the refugees, the peddlars, stockbrokers and janitors, stenographers and cooks,
all of us making and unmaking ourselves,
hurrying forwards, toward who we’ll become, one way only, one life only:
free in time but not from it,
here in the city the living make together, and make and unmake over and over
Quick, quick, ask heaven of it, of every mortal relation,
feeling that is fleeing,
for what would the heart be without a heaven to set it on?
I can’t help thinking no word will ever be as full of life as this world,
I can’t help thinking of thanks.

– Suji Kwock Kim

3.) Thank You Lord

Sometimes I stop and wonder,
Why you’re still here;
Or what is good about me,
And why you even care.
You’re always there with me,
To help me out each day;
Even though I seldom listen,
To the words you have to say.
The things I always pray for,
I know they will come true;
My joy and peace you give me,
When each day is new.
You continue to forgive me,
For all that I have done;
When nights are filled with sorrow,
The day will bring the sun.

In days full of trouble,
And friends won’t say hi;
I know you will be there with me,
To take me if I die.
For who am I to deserve,
The grace you have shown;
Thank you Lord for keeping me,
When life for me was cold.

– Gary R. Ferris

4.) You Have Happily Stuck By Me

You have happily stuck by me
during times I’ve had it rough.

For this and other kindnesses,
I can’t thank you enough.

– Unknown

5.) Thank You!

I really appreciate you,
Your helpful, giving ways,
And how your generous heart
Your unselfishness displays.

I thank you for your kindness,
I will not soon forget;
You’re one of the nicest people
I have ever met.

– Joanna Fuchs

6.) Thank You

You gave so willingly your time
And never once asked for a dime
So many appreciate all you do
We often wish you were two.

So today we say thank you
For all that you do
We would like to offer our thanks
On you, we can always bank.

– Christine Pulsifer

7.) Sacramento O No

An asparagus eating contest—
I thought I’d misheard.

Downstairs the rude old man
lays tile, makes demasiado noise.
I fell asleep at last around 5:30 am
and he woke me an hour later or so:
it is better I don’t look
at the clock. By this means
I clock my progress: I know now
it is sometimes better not to
know. I have midnight equilibrium
but it is gone by 3 am.

Thank you for Cloud of Sparrows,
man who wrote it. I read all night.
Thank you for the pen from Iran, Kamyar.
Its myriad stars have just run out of ink
eleven years on.

Thank you, sun, for leaf shadows
on horrible carpet in horrible box
I live in and for tree by which I mean
what’s living. I think of the gardens
I planted and left. I think of beets,
of beans and asparagus. Then
on the radio, hear the contest.

The noise of ten lanes of traffic
does not cancel the consolation
of seeing the wind
in the sweetgum leaves.
The experience of this
is my food and my sleep.

As at some strange customs,
I declare.

– Liz Waldner

8.) Thanks

HER griefs were the hours
When my struggle was sore,–
Her joys were the powers
That the climber upbore.

Her home is the boundless
Free ocean that seems
To rock, calm and soundless,
My galleon of dreams.

Half hers are the glancing
Creations that throng
With pageant and dancing
The ways of my song.

My fires when they dwindle
Are lit from her brand;
Men see them rekindle
Nor guess by whose hand.

Of thanks to requite her
No least thought is hers,–
And therefore I write her,
Once, thanks in a verse.

– Henrik Ibsen

9.) A Million Thank Yous

I would write a million thank yous
If I thought anyone would say
Just how much I am grateful
For what you did today

I will not write a million thank yous
Because that would take too much time
But just know I am truly thankful
For what you did for me and mine.

– Unknown

10.) And More!

A special person you are to us
You give and more
You help and more
You care and more
We would like to say thank you
We appreciate you MORE!

– Christine Pulsifer

11.) I Went To Thank Her

I WENT to thank her,
But she slept;
Her bed a funnelled stone,
With nosegays at the head and foot,
That travellers had thrown,

Who went to thank her;
But she slept.
’T was short to cross the sea
To look upon her like, alive,
But turning back ’t was slow.

– Emily Dickinson

12.) Pass It On

To thank someone as kind as you,
Would take a lot of thought.
But thankfully I’ve come to find,
You’re not in need of a lot.

You don’t like presents or anything new,
You don’t even need a card.
You prefer your appreciations to be something of helpfulness,
For someone else’s regard.

Your belief is great that someone else should benefit,
From a deed well done.
With this, I can see how great you have been,
To always be helping someone.

So here we are to give our thanks,
To someone, we are grateful for.
May you receive everything you deserve,
We only hope you get much more.

– Julie Hebert

13.) from Deaf Republic: 14

Each man has a quiet that revolves
around him as he beats his head against the earth. But I am laughing

hard and furious. I pour a glass of pepper vodka
and toast the gray wall. I say we were

never silent. We read each other’s lips and said
one word four times. And laughed four times

in loving repetition. We read each other’s lips to uncover
the poverty of laughter. Touch the asphalt with fingers to hear the cool earth of Vasenka

Deposit ears into the raindrops on a fisherman’s tobacco hair.
And whoever listens to me: being

there, and not being, lost and found
and lost again: Thank you for the feather on my tongue,

thank you for our argument that ends,
thank you for my deafness, Lord, such fire

from a match you never lit.

– Ilya Kaminsky

14.) Gratitude

If gratitude a poor man’s virtue is,
‘Tis one at least my sick soul can afford.
Bankrupt I am of all youth’s charities,
But not of thanks. No. Thanks be to the Lord!
Praise be, dear Lady of all grace, to you.
You were my mediciner, my one sole friend,
When the world spurned me from its retinue.
And I am yours, your bond–slave to the end.
–How shall I tell it you? There was a time
When I was sordid in my unbelief,
And mocked at all things less robust than crime,
A convict in my prison–house of grief.
But that is past. Your pity was the key
Which sent me forth, a broken man, but free.

– Wilfrid Scawen Blunt

15.) The Poor Man’s Thank You Gift

I wanted to buy you a pony,
But I do not think that you have the room.
I wanted to buy you a Lamborghini
So, on the highway you could freely zoom.

But we both know I do not have much money,
And you were never the type for such treasures.
So instead, I will just have to say thank you,
And we will revel in life’s littler pleasures.

– Unknown

16.) The World A Better Place

You give so willingly of your time
You help others who don’t have a dime
Your smile and kindness are appreciated to
We thank you for all you do.

So we thank you today
We can’t tell you enough or even say
Volunteers like you who care
Make this world a better place for all to bare.

– Christina Pullsifier

17.) Missed Time

My notebook has remained blank for months
thanks to the light you shower
around me. I have no use
for my pen, which lies
languorously without grief.

Nothing is better than to live
a storyless life that needs
no writing for meaning—
when I am gone, let others say
they lost a happy man,
though no one can tell how happy I was.

– Ha Jin

18.) Thanks For Remembering Us

The flowers sent here by mistake,
signed with a name that no one knew,
are turning bad. What shall we do?
Our neighbor says they’re not for her,
and no one has a birthday near.
We should thank someone for the blunder.
Is one of us having an affair?
At first we laugh, and then we wonder.

The iris was the first to die,
enshrouded in its sickly-sweet
and lingering perfume. The roses
fell one petal at a time,
and now the ferns are turning dry.
The room smells like a funeral,
but there they sit, too much at home,
accusing us of some small crime,
like love forgotten, and we can’t
throw out a gift we’ve never owned.

– Dana Gioia

19.) The Quiet Man Speaks

You know that I am not good with words,
And you know I am not that articulate.
You know I do not like to talk about feelings,
Or anything at all, you can bet.
But I marshalled these words just to tell you
Something too important to forget:
That I will always be grateful for all that you do
Even if I am too shy to say it.

– Unknown

20.) We Eat Out Together

My heart is a fancy place
Where giant reddish-purple cauliflowers
& white ones in French & English are outside
Waiting to welcome you to a boat
Over the low black river for a big dinner
There’s alot of choice among the foods
Even a tortured lamb served in pieces
En croute on a plate so hot as a rack
Of clouds blown over the cold filthy river
We are entitled to see anytime while we
Use the tablecovers to love each other
Publicly dishing out imitative luxuries
To show off poetry’s extreme generosity
Then home in the heart of a big limousine

– Bernadette Mayer

21.) Thank You I Love You All

To all the ones I know and love,
Each and every one of you know who you are,
The life I have and the man I am is because of you,
My heart has grown and flourished because the time we shared and experiences I gained,
Were not possible without you.
I love all of you so much,
My words will never be enough,
When I take a moment and think of you my heart raises to the skies above,
I wish I was a wealthy man although money could never replace the wealth you have given me,
you have given so much more,
If I could give anything your heart desires I would,
But all I am is me,
I hope and pray every day that in time I can,
So I can give back to all of you in some way,
Until then please know you are never forgotten and are thought of always,
I love all of you so much my eyes fill with tears of joy that you choose me to be one of your friends,
Your understanding love and wisdom,
Your patience and courage,
Truth and honesty even your anger when I have done wrong,
All these things and so much more have taught and shown me what love is and truly means,
I express to you my gratitude and loving beams of light,
That we all continue to share this wonderful friendship,
In this world we all call life,
I LOVE YOU ALL

– Richard Trully

22.) Help And Caring

Thanks for doing what you did;
You are kind beyond belier;
Your help and caring calmed me down,
And gave me soothing relief.

– Joanna Fuchs

23.) You Have My Thanks

Life is almost like a silly carnival ride.
Why?
Because it is best enjoyed
with someone great by your side.
Like you.
You have been there for me,
through ups and downs.
Suffered with me,
through my smiles and frowns.
Because you have been
such a dedicated friend
I wanted to know,
you have my thanks,
And my friendship,
till the end.

– Unknown

24.) A Brief Note

This is a note to say thank you
For all that you say and you do
For the T’s that you cross and the I’s that you dot
It is noticed, and appreciated – a lot.

– Unknown

25.) It Doesn’t Seem Enough

I want to tell you “Thank you,”
But it doesn’t seem enough.
Words don’t seem sufficient–
“Blah, blah” and all that stuff.

Please know I have deep feelings
About your generous act.
I really appreciate you;
You’re special, and that’s a fact!

– Joanna Fuchs

26.) Brain Age Seven

Grateful for their tour
of the pharmacy,
the first-grade class
has drawn these pictures,
each self-portrait taped
to the window-glass,
faces wide to the street,
round and available,
with parallel lines for hair.

I like this one best: Brian,
whose attenuated name
fills a quarter of the frame,
stretched beside impossible
legs descending from the ball
of his torso, two long arms
springing from that same
central sphere. He breathes here,

on his page. It isn’t craft
that makes this figure come alive;
Brian draws just balls and lines,
in wobbly crayon strokes.
Why do some marks
seem to thrill with life,
possess a portion
of the nervous energy
in their maker’s hand?

That big curve of a smile
reaches nearly to the rim
of his face; he holds
a towering ice cream,
brown spheres teetering
on their cone,
a soda fountain gift
half the length of him
—as if it were the flag

of his own country held high
by the unadorned black line
of his arm. Such naked support
for so much delight! Artless boy,
he’s found a system of beauty:
he shows us pleasure
and what pleasure resists.
The ice cream is delicious.
He’s frail beside his relentless standard.

– Mark Doty

27.) For Allen Ginsberg

Among other things,
thanks for explaining
how the generous death
of old trees
forms
the red powdered floor
of the forest.

– Dorothea Grossman

28.) Spring Reign

Thank you whoever tuned the radio
to rain, thank you who spilled
the strong-willed wine for not
being me so I’m not to blame. I’m glad

I’m not that broken tree although
it looks sublime. And glad I’m not
taking a test and running out of time.
What’s a tetrahedron anyway? What’s

the sublime, 3,483 divided by 9,
the tenth amendment, the ferryman’s name
on the River Styx? We’re all missing
more and more tricks, losing our grips,

guilty of crimes we didn’t commit.
The horse rears and races then moves no more,
the sports coupe grinds to a stop, beginning
a new life as rot, beaten to shit, Whitman

grass stain, consciousness swamp gas,
the bones and brain, protoplasm and liver,
ground down like stones in a river. Or does
the heart’s cinder wash up as delta froth

out of which hops frog spawn, dog song,
the next rhyming grind, next kid literati?
Maybe the world’s just a bubble, all
philosophy ants in a muddle,

an engine inside an elk’s skull on a pole.
Maybe an angel’s long overdue and we’re
all in trouble. Meanwhile thanks whoever
for the dial turned to green downpour, thanks

for feathery conniptions at the seashore
and moth-minded, match-flash breath.
Thank you for whatever’s left.

– Dean Young

29.) Thank You For Being You

Thank you for (the gift/your kindness).
Thank you for being the person you are:
kind and thoughtful,
sensitive and considerate,
a generous and thoughtful giver.
You are unselfish always,
putting others before yourself,
making me/us feel special and important.
It is a privilege and a pleasure to know you.

– Joanna Fuchs

30.) I Give You My Thanks

You brighten up my world,
you always make me smile.
You say the nicest things,
with your special style.
You make me feel so loved,
with everything you do.
And you know just when to do them,
just because you’re you.
Thank you for your gift,
It means so much to me.
When I look more into it,
the love is clear to see.
When love like that is given,
it always comes right back.
May you always have good fortune,
and never live for lack.

– Unknown

31.) Thanks For The Good Times

Thank you for the good times,
The days you filled with pleasure.
Thank you for fond memories,
And for feelings I’ll always treasure.

– Karl Fuchs

32.) A Tribute To The Beautiful Women I Know

To all you beautiful women who have been part of my life,
I am glad you shared in my joys and supported me in moments of strife.

On you, may God’s abundant blessings pour,
And when, like me, solace you need, a helping hand may He send to your door.

Women, because of each of you, I am the kind of person you see today.
You played an important part at some stage, in some way.

Your words of advice and encouragement or just a listening ear
Have helped me move forward and to get rid of many a fear.

I am now blessed to help other women, who beyond their pain can’t see,
By giving them what I received from you, thus saving them from the fate that theirs could be.

– Na DSa

33.) Everything You Do

I appreciate everything that you do,
Very helpful and thoughtful too.
From the beginning, you’ve been there for me,
When I was down, you were strong like a tree.
You offer so much, a heart that is kind,
Thinking to help others, in your beautiful mind.
Your qualities combined, are extremely rare,
You wake up each morning, with a smile and care.
Everything you do, I respect and praise,
You’re a wonderful person, you always amaze.
Wish to say thank you, deep in my heart,
For so many lives, you’re a big part.

– Unknown

Thank You Poems For Friends

34.) My Thanks

O friend beloved, whose curious skill
Keeps bright the last year’s leaves and flowers,
With warm, glad, summer thoughts to fill
The cold, dark, winter hours

Pressed on thy heart, the leaves I bring
May well defy the wintry cold,
Until, in Heaven’s eternal spring,
Life’s fairer ones unfold.

– John Greenleaf Whittier

35.) You Should Know

I don’t know how to say this,
but I thank you very much
for always being there for me,
your gentle, friendly touch.
Thank you.

You helped me to get better
and stop what I regret.
You helped me through the hard times
that I can’t forget.
Thank you.

You listened to my problems
in a kind and caring way,
and without you,
I may not be smiling today.
Thank you.

I trust you with my secrets
that no one has been told.
I trust you with my feelings, and I’ll remember your words
until I’m grey and old.
Thank you.

– Abby Heard

36.) Lucky To Have Found You

I feel lucky to have found you,
A friend that is so kind and true,

To lift me up when I am down,
and make me smile when I frown.

It’s hard to find the words to say
just how much I care.

But these will have to do,

Thank you
Thank you
Thank you.

– Unknown

37.) I Want To Thank You Again

To me, you’re like an angel, sent by God above,
To cleanse my soul of sadness and fill it with love.
You are my inspiration, and I want to thank you,
For without you, I don’t know what I would do.
You’ve changed my life around
And turned my frown upside down.
You have shown me the way
So that I will never stray.
For this I want to thank you again,
For staying close by and being a friend.
And to end this off, I just wanted to say
That if you need a friend,
I’ll be there till the very end.

– Janelle J. James

38.) Thank You Ambrose

Thank you Ambrose for the kitchen door ajar,
a sign your friendship never closed on me, an amity extended
from afar although it was a distant glow I didn’t really know.

Thank you Ambrose for staying staunch and true,
a fellowship renewed in time of need, reviewed each time indeed
concentric paths of earthy spheres we orbit in combine.

Thank you Ambrose for appealing to the poet I became,
the muse I never knew whose gentle protestations were disposed
in subtle plays on words conveyed in hues of ever changing light.

Thank you Ambrose for being right when I was wrong,
being fair when I was strong in condemnation, patiently awaiting
for the end of fancied flights of my self-righteous indignation.

Thank you Ambrose for staying in my mind a sober voice,
I always heard the choices you proposed. It took me time to talk
with you although I made excuses disabusing what you know.

Thank you Ambrose, I am giving you the home you have inside my head;
if you were I instead of me you would have given me the key and lead me
where I could recline in restful ease a long, long time ago. And rest I will
with you my friend.

– Ivan Donn Carswell

39.) Thank You For Your Kindness

Thank you for your kindness,
it meant so much to me.
You care so much about me,
this is clear to see.
When I think of special,
I always think of you,
And the lovely gifts you give,
and the thoughtful things you do.
Your essence in my life,
is the best gift you can give
Our friendship will go on,
for as long as we both live.
Thank You.

– Unknown

40.) Just Who You Are

You’ve got quite an easy style
with a tender heart to match,
and how you’d wear a cheerful smile
then that kindly voice attach.
You are a joy to behold,
even when the times are tough.
You offer a hand to hold
whenever the road seems rough.
You are thoughtful with advice
when you have some to share
and would show up in a trice
when you’re needed to be there.
You are an angel, that much is true.
Thanks so much for just being you.

– Abimbola T. Alabi

41.) There Are Friends

There are friends who are just there
And then there are friends who really care
There are friends in the good times
And there are friends who won’t lend you a dime.

You, my friend, show by your actions that you care
In bad and good times you are always there.
You’re the type of friend I hope to be
You set the example I hope you see.

Thank you, my friend, for who you are
In my books, you are a star.
Thank you for your love and kindness to
I wish only happiness for you!

– Bryan Pulsifer

42.) Gratitude

I thank thee, friend, for the beautiful thought
That in words well chosen thou gavest to me,
Deep in the life of my soul it has wrought
With its own rare essence to ever imbue me,
To gleam like a star over devious ways,
To bloom like a flower on the drearest days
Better such gift from thee to me
Than gold of the hills or pearls of the sea.

For the luster of jewels and gold may depart,
And they have in them no life of the giver,
But this gracious gift from thy heart to my heart
Shall witness to me of thy love forever;
Yea, it shall always abide with me
As a part of my immortality;
For a beautiful thought is a thing divine,
So I thank thee, oh, friend, for this gift of thine.

– Lucy Maud Montgomery

43.) Friend

You’re a very special person.
I’m glad that you’re my friend,
For when I need a little advice,
You always have some to lend.

You help me when I am troubled,
Feeling down and out-
I never have to say what’s wrong.
You seem to know what I’m all about.

I can always tell you my feelings
Without having you put me down.
You’re the person I can turn to
When no one else is around.

I can cry on your shoulder
When things are going wrong.
You give me a smile
And help me to be strong.

You seem to understand me.
After all that we’ve gone through,
I only have one thing to say…
Thanks for being YOU!

– Lisa Asmo

44.) Sonnet: I Thank You

I thank you, kind and best beloved friend,
With the same thanks one murmurs to a sister,
When, for some gentle favor, he hath kissed her,
Less for the gifts than for the love you send,
Less for the flowers, than what the flowers convey;
If I, indeed, divine their meaning truly,
And not unto myself ascribe, unduly,
Things which you neither meant nor wished to say,
Oh! tell me, is the hope then all misplaced?
And am I flattered by my own affection?
But in your beauteous gift, methought I traced
Something above a short-lived predilection,
And which, for that I know no dearer name,
I designate as love, without love’s flame.

– Henry Timrod

45.) Thank You

Thank you for being there,
for showing me the path.
Thank you for always caring
and giving it all you have.
Thank you for not running
when I needed your help,
and thank you for always caring about my health.
Thank you for always staying by my side
and giving me the courage
and the pride to do things I’ve never done before.
Thank you for giving me
something to stay alive for.
Thank you for always loving me
and adoring my talents and skills.
Thank you for always being there,
for all of the sad times and the thrills.
Thank you for always telling me
what’s wrong and what’s right,
and thank you for helping me on the path to life.

– Tyeisha S. Crutchfield

46.) We Never Thank The Sun

We never thank the sun enough
For all it does for us.
For all the light it shines around,
For the warmth and the beauty and love.

It just hangs there every day,
A sparkle in the sky.
We never stop to thank it, though,
As it goes burning by.

I think that friends are like the sun,
In this way if no other.
We relish their beauty and bask in their warmth,
But never say so to one another.

So am I taking this chance to say,
Loud and proud and true,
That I am so thankful that you are my friend,
And that I get to be a friend to you.

– Unknown

47.) A Big Deal

You pass off as no big deal
Lots of splendid, gracious acts.
Friends like you are rare indeed;
That is just a simple fact.

You’ve done it once again,
Put a sparkly glow in my day.
Your kindness meant more to me
Than these words can convey.

A trusty, kindly soul
You’ve always been from the start.
Helping out behind the scene,
That is what sets you apart.

I really appreciate what you did;
I know you didn’t have to.
Though you made no big deal of it,
I’d like to say a big thank you.

– Abimbola T. Alabi

48.) Always Friend

Thanks, for being my friend,
for being supportive and helping me mend,
for sticking by me through thick and thin,
for every day that your spirit brightens.
You are my friend, always unto the end.

Thanks, for all that you do,
for keeping me going and assisting me through,
for allowing me to share and cry,
for how you see me through your twinkling eyes.
You are my best bud and my friend, always unto the end.

Thanks, for taking the time,
for your understanding of my heart and mind,
for your knowing of what I like,
for making me feel so good and right,
You are my soul-mate and my friend, always unto the end.

Thanks, for receiving my love,
for letting me shower you with the things I think of,
for my gifts that you inspire; you are my heart’s desire,
you ignite me like fire.
You are my king and my friend, always unto the end.

Thanks, for your love,
You are a gift from up above.
Your gentle touch tingles my insides; you are sexy and oh so fine.
I am glad that you are mine.
I am in love with my friend, always unto to the end.

– Jo Anne Meekins

49.) I’m Glad I Have A Friend Like You

It started out as just a hug and grew into a kiss,
A friendship that had blossomed up to more than I could wish.

You are my shining star at night, you help me find my way.
You are my inspiration directing me each day.

See, when I fall and need a hand, you always pick me up,
And when I cry and need a friend, you’re there no matter what.

I wish I were just like you, strong hearted, brave, and sweet.
I’m glad I have a friend like you to make my life complete.

– Nicole J. Van Oss

Thank You Poems For Family

50.) The Greatest Parents On Earth

I will never take for granted
how greatly I’ve been blessed;
For when it comes to parents,
Mom and Dad, you are the best!

You nurtured and protected me
and taught me with great care.
And every time I’ve needed you,
you were always there.

If you could look into my heart,
how quickly you would see
the special place you hold there
and how much you mean to me.

May you receive the blessings
you are so deserving of
for your caring and your sharing,
and each sacrifice of love.

And may you carry in your hearts
these words forever true…
No parents anywhere on earth
could be more loved than you.

– Ron Tranmer

51.) Always Watching

I was watching you sleep the other day
And prayed that it would last
The peace that rested on your face
I’d never seen in the past

I was watching you speak a while ago
And hoped that you’d go on
The way your words, they had no end
Your Spirit seemed so strong

I was watching you fight the other day
And prayed my tears would dry
All this I knew was done for me
And couldn’t figure out why

I was watching you smile a couple of days ago
And stared in total awe
Was it me who made you shine?
Was that triumph that I saw?

And all this time you’ve waited
And all this time you’ve helped
And all the things you sacrificed
For me to grow up well

And all the tears you’ve dried
And all the pain you soothed
And all the truths you have to hide
Without one simple Thank You

But I was watching you today
And I realized that I can’t wait
To tell you how much I appreciate
And love you in every way

Thanks Mom

– Skye D. Barker

52.) Those Winter Sundays

Sundays too my father got up early
and put his clothes on in the blueblack cold,
then with cracked hands that ached
from labor in the weekday weather made
banked fires blaze. No one ever thanked him.

I’d wake and hear the cold splintering, breaking.
When the rooms were warm, he’d call,
and slowly I would rise and dress,
fearing the chronic angers of that house,

Speaking indifferently to him,
who had driven out the cold
and polished my good shoes as well.
What did I know, what did I know
of love’s austere and lonely offices?

– Robert Hayden

53.) You Are My Heart And Soul

Thank you…
For standing by me through thick and thin,
For not giving up on me when I didn’t win,
For your patience when I kept pushing you away,
For caring when I said I didn’t need you anyway.

I am grateful knowing…
I can count on your strength,
Ask for your support and know you’ll go to any length.
When I lose my way,
You help me get back on track.
When in pain,
Your comfort soothes and brings me back.

I am lucky because…
When I was sad, you gave me faith and hope.
When I was confused, you taught me how to cope.
When I felt I couldn’t go on,
You carried me long miles.
When I didn’t believe,
You restored my smiles.

Mom, thank you…
For your guidance and the faith you’ve shown,
For giving me a safe place where I have grown,
For showing me how to strive.
Because of your love,
I will survive.

– Elizabeth A. Robinson

54.) Thank You

God sends blessings,
such as people like you.
We really appreciate
all that you do.

May God bless you
with all his love and care.
We want to thank you,
for always being there.

It’s people like you
who bring happiness in the lives of others,
to wonderful children,
and to their fathers and mothers.

Thank you so much
for all that you have done.
When we are around you,
we are happy, and have so much fun.

– Amy M.

55.) My Angels

Just when I think the world has me beat,
My two angels help me to my feet.

They are always there whenever I call,
Ready to catch me if I fall.

They always know exactly what to say
To make sure I have the perfect day.

Never having to wonder if they have gone,
Their shoulder is always there to cry on.

Knowing how to catch all the tears
Makes them wise beyond their years.

You will see the most unbreakable ties
When you look into their beautiful eyes.

We have a bond you will never see,
So take my hand and follow me.

Wait until you meet the angels of mine.
They will make sure everything is perfect and fine.

A creation from my wonderful mother,
My angels are my sister and brother.

Just find a place in your heart.
I promise you will never find yourself to far apart.

Now that you know what to do,
You can have angels in this life too.

– Billie Jo Ferrin

56.) Parental Honor

I was born in the arms of my own king and queen.
They raised me as they were, in the life they had seen.

My queen guarded and protected me as her queen did before.
My king provided and protected me, with clothes, food, and war.

They watched me grow and guided me in youth.
They corrected my mistakes and showed me the truth.

Now I’ve found my own way, and they have stepped back.
Now they watch from afar to keep me on track.

But one day they’ll go and leave me alone.
I’ll find my own queen and take over the throne.

They’ve shown me the way and taught me respect.
I’ll create my own kingdom the way they’d expect.

I’ll have my own heirs and show them the way,
The way they’ve shown me, right up to this day.

– Rich C. Draper

57.) Daddy’s Girl

I sit here and daydream of
my future and how it seems
I can picture my wedding day
my daddy walking me down the aisle
To meet my fate
I look over at him and see a single
Tear
he thinks he’s losing his baby
His biggest fear
but I love him more than ever on this
Day
so I look at him and blow a kiss
His way

He has been there for every single
day of my life
He has been the provider through all
the struggle and strife
I would be lost if he hadn’t shown me
the way
I don’t know that I would have made it
from day to day
I am so very lucky for all he has
done
Out of all dads, he is the very best one

– Jazmyn M. Winder

58.) My Thank You

You’ve always been there,
making sure I was okay.
The one who helped me be
the kind of person I am today.

I’ll never be able to repay you
for all that you have done for me.
Knowing that I’d need someone
when I’d fall and scrape my knee.

You are my big sister,
one that I admire most.
I will always be thankful.
Having a sister like you makes me boast.

Not to mention those times,
when boys were boys.
You were always the first one
to help me regain my poise.

You understand me
like only a sister can.
And when I’m upset and not talking,
you always just give me your hand.

Now you’re getting married,
and your life will soon be complete.
But I will always come to you
whenever I feel defeat.

So this is my attempt
at thanking you for what you’ve done,
because in my book you’ll always be
my sister, number one!

– Meghan N. Faber

59.) A Strong Bond

Sisters, they laugh a little louder.
They cry a little softer.
They live a little stronger,
Because they stand together.
Sisters

As for mothers.
You have helped mend my faltered heart,
And helped the bond between us become stronger.
The brick wall I have built up so high
Is finally crumbling away.
You have left footprints on my heart
That will never fade away.
The memories we share are priceless.
Through the good and the bad,
You are always there for me.
Thank you!

As for the fathers,
You know I am not the girly girl in the family,
And you take that for granted.
You taught me how to hunt, fish,
Ride my bike and play card games.
You taught me that life is more than just Barbie dolls and clothes,
You gave me the gift of adventure and adrenaline.
You gave me advice on how to survive in this big world,
That reaching to the stars is the best you can do in life.
You gave me the tools, and now I am using them.
Thank you!

– Eliott

Thank You Poems For Lovers

60.) To My Dear and Loving Husband

If ever two were one, then surely we.
If ever man were loved by wife, then thee.
If ever wife was happy in a man,
Compare with me, ye women, if you can.
I prize thy love more than whole mines of gold,
Or all the riches that the East doth hold.
My love is such that rivers cannot quench,
Nor ought but love from thee give recompense.
Thy love is such I can no way repay;
The heavens reward thee manifold, I pray.
Then while we live, in love let’s so persever,
That when we live no more, we may live ever.

– Anne Bradstreet

61.) Eternally Crowded

I wake to the touch of a morning sun,
Softly teasing my eyes apart.
I feel your arms tighten around
Sealing yet another
Non existent space…
I turn around to face you
Feeling blessed for the millionth time.
I stare at your sleeping self
Murmuring a silent prayer of thanks…
At a dark dark time you were sent to me
To shed some light on my weakening being.
I held on tight to you secure hands
As you pulled me out of a painful mess…
I found the smile I thought I had lost
I found love so serene and pure
I found your eyes so full of care
As it healed so well my bruised soul..
I kiss your brow slow and soft
Anxious not to wake you up…
Tears form spelling my love
I see your eyes open up
Just as a drop runs down my cheek
I feel your hands brushing it off…
That I know is the art of love
I was gifted with
And eternally crowned…

– Zahara

62.) Thank You

Thank you
For loving me true,
For being no one but you,
For holding my hand
And helping me stand.

Thank you
For never giving up
And never getting stuck
In the dark times
Where only love shines.

Thank you
For the kind letters
That make me feel better,
For putting up with me,
And loving what you see.

Thank you
Now and forever.
Remember, I’ll never
Stop loving you.
What I say is true;
I mean it from my heart,
Even when it’s dark.
I love you.
THANK YOU!

– Hannah L.

63.) The Love Of My Life

Without you, my dear
I would not be here
I would not be the person I am today
You support me and you love me…
Unconditionally.

I feel so unworthy,
So unlovable because of my past
But toward me you don’t turn your back
That’s what makes me stronger
To know your love gives me strength.

To feel it, to see it still, after being tested all the time
I’m really glad you are mine!
The persistence you have gives me my answer.
You love me like nobody else can.

Unfaltering love
That is what I have prayed for from above
You are my saving grace
Without you, I would be out of place.

Not in the place I am supposed to be
The place where I belong:
Next to you forever,
And really that’s not so long.
I love you with all my heart.
I am so glad you put me in your cart!

– Lisa Roberts

64.) Our Romance

‘Twas the night before Sunday
When all through the bar
Texans were dancing
Beneath the Lone Star

When what to my wandering eyes should appear
A handsome young Texan
Buying a beer

Our love story started
Right there, right then
Joy Unexplainable
Least not by pen

If I had your attention
For a lifetime or so
I could tell you about the man
I’ve come to know

He is the best husband
Now the best dad
I am living the life
I wish all could have

Years later
We stroll hand in hand
Thanking the Lord
For His Perfect Plan

– Susan L. Malone

65.) Priceless

In a distracted world,
full of barely controlled chaos,
when you lock your eyes onto mine,
focusing, listening, hearing, caring,
the comfort and pleasure you create
is priceless.

– Joanna Fuchs

66.) How Can I Say It?

How can I say
how grateful I am of you?
Your kindness and thoughtfulness
is in everything you do.
You make me smile when I am down,
and brighten each and every day.
I will always hold you in my heart,
as we travel down life’s way.
If you ever need me,
I’ll be there when you call.
To hold your hand as youve held mine,
and catch you if you fall.

– Unknown

67.) What Is In A Smile?

I was thinking of you just the other day
And I could not understand just quite why.
We had not seen each other;
I had not run into your brother;
There was no reason I could descry.

But then I realized the occasion
That had kept you in my mind all the while:
The beautiful clear blue sky,
And the birds as they fly –
All the joy reminded me of your smile.

So, keep doing what you are doing, and never stop grinning,
Though the wind and the rain get you down.
I hope that you know
I am grateful and so
Appreciative of the best smile in town.

– Unknown

You know just what I need.
Your loving heart shows its caring
In your every thought and deed.

– Joanna Fuchs

69.) Satisfied

You touch my life with your kindness;
You know just what I need.
Your loving heart shows its caring
In your every thought and deed.

– Dina Johnson

Summary

And there you have it – 69 thank you poems perfect for any occasion. We hope you found our extensive list helpful and were able to find the perfect poem for your scenario. Remember that you can share these poems to the intended target via text or social media, but if you want a more personal experience, handwritten poetry on a gift card is the way to go.

Sometimes, saying thank you in itself can be a little too humbling. We like to think of ourselves as independent and self-reliant, but it’s important to acknowledge other people’s efforts from time to time.
