How many tribute bands last more than 20 years? Very few, but ABRA Cadabra has made it an art form. Their Olympia stop turned the Washington Center for the Performing Arts into a time machine, flashing back to when ABBA ruled the airwaves. The costumes, the choreography and the crowd’s energy felt like the 1970s had been bottled up and released on a September night.

The show was full of color and movement, with Jeanette O’Keeffe and Marlie Collins stepping into the roles of Anni-Frid and Agnetha. Their harmonies had the same light and shadow contrast that made ABBA famous, one warm and earthy, the other bright and soaring. It was more than music, it was theater, right down to the way the audience jumped in with cheers and dancing.

ABRA Cadabra – a Tribute to ABBA

Fans were loving every second. One person said it was “the closest thing to seeing ABBA live.” Another called it “a joyful trip back in time” and you could see why, couples were swaying, friends were shouting lyrics and strangers became dance partners for three minutes at a time.

That rush of nostalgia set up the perfect moment to talk about their larger story. ABRA Cadabra has been carrying this torch for years, taking the joy of ABBA across cities and countries. Their dedication is about perfect harmonies as well as making sure every performance feels like a celebration.
